Terri-Lynn Kent
Terri-Lynn Kent, RSW, RCC studied at the University of Calgary and achieved a Master’s Degree in Social Work. She has over 20 years of clinical experience in health care and private practice environments. Terri-Lynn has worked closely with individuals and couples living with chronic illness, cancer, dementia, persistent pain, conflict, stress, loss, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, and marital separation.
Collaborating with individuals is important for Terri-Lynn, as she respects individuals’ physical, emotional, social, and spiritual circumstances, to help achieve goals, enhance self-efficacy, and improve quality of life. To assist individuals to solve problems and work towards goal attainment, Terri-Lynn creates a safe and caring space for individuals to share their stories and engage in a healing process. According to the unique needs of each individual’s circumstances, Terri-Lynn draws upon:
- Cognitive behavior therapy
- Attachment theory
- Emotion focused therapy
- Relaxation & mindfulness techniques
- Physiology education
- Stress management training
- Grief counselling, and
- Fitness training interventions
She emphasizes the use of practical tools that fit into the everyday lives of her clients, so that they make measurable progress toward meeting goals.
Terri-Lynn is a member in good standing with BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (RCC) and the British Columbia College of Social Workers (RSW).
